With 3 little boys, sometimes meal time can be a bit of a pain in the booty. I don’t make hot dogs every day, so they tend to get upset about what I have made for dinner.  Since I hate cooking, it starts feeling like the worst chore that is on my list.

My hubby doesn’t cook often, but he runs the BBQ, and he makes homemade Pizza.

I love the homemade pizza, as we know what’s on it, it is fairly cheap and easy.  Besides, I don’t have to cook

I thought I would share with you, hubby’s version of making pizza.

INGREDIENTS:

• Premade Pizza Dough from the grocery store
• Pizza Sauce
• Mozzarella Cheese
• Pepperoni
• Olives
• (whatever your favourite toppings are)

DIRECTIONS:

Let dough sit out on the counter to reach room temperature (approx. 30m – 1 hr).
After it has reached room temperature, stretch it out onto a baking sheet.
Wait 15 mintues, then stretch it out again.
Poke it with a fork.

Slather with Pizza sauce!

Add about 1/2 the cheese (we like ours good and cheesy!!)

Top with desired ingredients.

Top with remaining cheese!

Place in the oven at 415 for 15 minutes.
When finished broil until cheese browns a little bit.
Enjoy and Serve!

So, how long did it take me to decide that I was going to make my kids Mickey Mouse fans too?  Not long, they are big fans of the Mouse and his House and they gladly still let me label up all their school supplies and more with sweet images of the greatest Mouskateer of them all!

Label Daddy has many awesome characters to choose from to customize their labels.  Each of our family are able to pick one that they would love.

My oldest son would love the Spiderman labels!

Middle son loves the Cars labels.  He actually has a set and comments on it all the time about how he has Lightening McQueen.

Our youngest loves Mickey Mouse, so of course that is what he would choose.  Anything with “The Mouse” is huge for him.

I made my hubby choose, and while he rolled his eyes at me, he found Wolverine!  Oh and he liked the Where’s My Water alligator too!

I would choose the Toronto Blue Jays labels for me.  I use to be a huge fan of the Toronto Blue Jays, but have gotten out of watching it.  I would love to have NASCAR labels, but they don’t have them yet   I will keep hinting though! LOL

There are almost 60 National Parks in the U.S. Visit the National Park Service website Please link the bold words to http://www.nps.gov/index.htm and delete the red words to find one close to you! A simple search pulled up 11 parks in Georgia, boasting over 7 million visitors last year! That’s Georgia alone!!!

Most National Parks (picture @MapsofWorld) are FREE to the public and are home to the amazing animals-elk, black bears, salamanders, and more-all in their natural environment! National Parks often have reasonable priced accommodations, too! There is something for everyone-hiking, bird watching, picnicking, boat rides, performances, and more! Kids can even become junior rangers!

The task is simple-go outside a little more than usual! Whether it is a National Park or the playground up the road, go for it!

Mama Monday

We also label special bibs, special blankets, our diaper bag, and our camera. Our last batch of labels came from Name Bubbles but I recently stumbled upon Label Daddy. Label Daddy has licensed Disney labels! I can not vouch for the quality other than the reviews I have read but our next label order is going to be from them.

One of my greatest memories is making forts in the yard with blankets and sheets. We would drape them on trees and yard furniture, and sit inside of the fort and play or read. Perfect for     being out in the yard and kept away from the sun.

For something more active, my mom would always make us sidewalk paint. As a kid, I thought it was magic…..but it is really easy to make, and you can let your kids go wild on the driveway, sidewalk, patio, etc.  My mom would mix cornstarch, water, and food coloring into muffin tins, and create a paste with it and we would use paint brushes and “paint” with it. It was so much fun. And my son loves doing it.

Another thing to think about for outdoor activities is let your kids help you plant the garden, or let them plant their own   flowers. It is a lot of fun for them to plant something and then take care of it all summer and reap what they sow. How exciting when the flowers bloom or the vegetables grow!

I have seriously been wracking my brain trying to decide what my kids are going to be doing once school gets out. I know that one place that I have missed since moving here is the museum that is close to my mother’s house. Since they are going to be visiting her some this summer, I am going to make plans for them to visit the Schiele Museum while they are there.  It’s a Museum of Natural History and they always have a lot of fun things for kids in the community to do.

We are also going to make ourselves a garden. We have space on 3 sides of our house. The only thing that I am sure that I will have in the garden is sunflowers on the back of our house because it gets a lot of sun. I want a section with cucumbers, tomatos and maybe even a section that has strawberries. To get this started, I weeded the garden sections with a homemade weedkiller recipe that I found on Pinterest. It is very easy and only contains e ingredients; vinegar, salt and dish soap. You take 1 gallon of vinegar, mix it with a quarter cup of salt and a half cup of dish soap. There are several different variations of this recipe, several that call for less soap and salt. I have used it several times and it starts to work so fast, like within hours. I added this concoction to a sprayer and just walked around the yard where I wanted to get rid of weeds. Within hours the weeds started to lose some of their green and the next day there was a brown border on the edge of the yard where I had sprayed.

I plan on our summer being fun as well as productive. What plans does your family have for this summer?
